Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — Are you looking for a place that matches the charm and nature of the picturesque Maldives.. but in the Sultanate of Oman? You don’t have to search long to discover the beauty of Barr Al Hakman!
When Faisal al-Houti visited the area with his friend Muhammad al-Khatib, he did not resist his desire to document what his eyes saw with his camera lens.
The area is protected from wetlands, pristine beaches with complex ecosystems, and a safe haven for migratory birds.
It was called the “Maldives of Oman” because of the formation of small beaches during the tidal movement. (Watch the video clip above)
Not only that, but its white sands and clear blue waters, which are considered one of the most beautiful sites for water skiing enthusiasts, will remind you of the Maldives as well.
The media portal of the Sultanate of Oman stated, on its official website, that the Barr Al Hakman area is considered one of the most important sites where sea turtles feed and mate due to the abundance of food in it, including molluscs, crustaceans, algae and marine plants.
The Barr Al Hakman area also includes the largest pristine natural gathering of mangroves in the Sultanate, along the coast of Mahout Island in “Ghabbat Hashish”, where the total area of these trees is estimated at about 162 hectares.
Al-Houti said in an interview with CNN in Arabic: “The beach is a visual food in all seasons.. and Barr Al-Hakman is considered one of the most beautiful places to watch the stars, sunrises and sunsets.”
You will not be satisfied with visiting it once.
The Omani photographer explained, “Its beauty will make you want to visit it again.”
Al-Houti faced a number of challenges during his journey to Barr al-Hakman.
At first, he found it difficult to find a strong communication network, and to locate the beach, because of the similarity of the roads leading to it.
And at the time of the tide, you must continue on one track, and not deviate from it, all the way to the beach.
It is possible for the car to be stuck as soon as it deviates from the roadway.
Are you thinking of visiting Barr Al Hakman?
You must take all necessary precautions into account.
And avoid visiting Barr al-Hakman on your own, that is, without a guide or someone from the people of the region, because of its cut off from the world and the lack of access to the Internet.
