The Volkrange park, covering an area of thirty hectares, was rehabilitated in 1990 as a tourist, ecological and training site. Having become a natural and educational environment, it encounters problems of eutrophication and siltation of its various water surfaces. In any case, this is what a study revealed. In this context, the City of Thionville will carry out development work in order to improve the quality of aquatic environments, restore a wetland for educational purposes, and drain and clean the estate’s pond.
