Discover the new training courses that will open at the start of the 2021 school year in Brittany [Carte interactive] – Economy

How many new training courses offered at the start of the 2021 school year in Brittany?

About twenty new training courses will be offered at the start of the 2021 school year in Brittany. Among them, some are unheard of in the region. In Pontivy, the Lycée du Blavet offers the FCIL “assistant to the deconstruction and circular economy building project management”, additional training aimed at qualifying experts in clean deconstruction. The Chaptal high school in Quimper offers a bio-quality BTS, a diploma which will qualify quality specialists for bio-industries, health or the environment. The Saint-Joseph Lasalle high school in Vannes opens the FCIL “maintenance of household appliances and audiovisual equipment”, which aims to allow future technicians to better integrate into repair companies and large specialized brands.

Who makes the decision to open the new training courses?

Each year, under the responsibility of the President of the Brittany region and in agreement with the Rector, the services of the Region and the academic authorities examine the requests of public and private establishments under contract. The list of decisions is presented to the Regional Committee for Employment, Vocational Training and Guidance (CREFOP), to the Academic Council for National Education (CAEN), to the Regional Committee for Agricultural Education (CREA) and it is voted in plenary assembly of the regional council.

The resources allocated by the Ministry of National Education make it possible to transform unattractive or poorly integrative training courses with diplomas from the same sector

On what basis is the decision taken?

“Different parameters are taken into account: the needs for jobs and qualifications (in conjunction with the economic players and the social partners, with the collection of the opinions of the professional branches on the various projects), the expectations of young people and families, as well as the complementarity of the offer between the establishments to avoid competition ”, explain the services of the rectorate. “The objective is to develop a coherent, balanced, relevant training map that responds to educational, economic and demographic challenges”.

Are there also closures?

The adaptation of the training offer is done via the evolution of reception capacities, the adaptation of the possibilities offered in terms of course, but also by closures. The process is the same as for openings. “Nonetheless, so far there have been very few closures without any prospect. The resources allocated by the Ministry of National Education make it possible to transform unattractive or poorly integrative training courses with diplomas from the same sector, ”argue the services of the rectorate.
