A week before the Chartres half-marathon, on September 12, there were around a hundred runners to set off, under the leadership of Thierry Mommessin, to attack the new route proposed by the organizers, The Republican Echo and ASPTT Chartres, this Sunday, September 5.
Among these runners, some were kind enough to give their opinion on the route after the reconnaissance. Flavien, former footballer of Dammarie and Sours, converted to running for five years, has already completed the 21 km of the semi in 1h24.

He appreciates the changes made: “It’s still relatively flat. The elimination of the long straights exposed to the wind is not to displease me. The passage through the lower town is pleasant, even if it generates many reminders. The public should be more numerous there, as during the Foulées de la Cathédrale, when we went into the countryside … “

Mylène, who has already completed 2:07 in Chartres, will be satisfied this year with the 10 km: “For runners of my level, that won’t change much. For us there is no question of revival, we are just trying to maintain a steady pace. The new part in Chartres is pleasant and less monotonous than the old course. ”

Christine, long-distance runner, organizer of “Courons pour changer le diabetes” ‘and regulator of time, agrees: “It remains” spinning ” despite the many reminders in old Chartres, but it suits me well. However, runners looking for a performance might not agree with me. They may also be hampered on cobbled passages. Another advantage is the disappearance of the long false flat at the Gorget. ”
The 2,000 registered bar crossed! The health pass, compulsory to participate in the Chartres half-marathon, this Sunday, September 12, does not dampen the envy of runners. More than 2,000, exactly 2,059 runners, this Monday, September 6, were entered. Registration for all distances (5 km, 10 km and 21 km) is still possible online via the website dedicated to the event.
