Many of you took advantage of the European Night of Museums, Saturday July 3, 2021 to explore the museums and the activities that were on offer. Concerts, shows, animated walks, guided tours, there were many proposals to entertain and educate you.

Despite the constraints due to the health crisis such as gauges or the obligation to register, the 17th edition was a success. More than a million visitors have pushed through the doors of more than 1000 museums in France. Ile-de-France is not to be outdone.

The most successful sites in Paris and Île-de-France

It’s the Army museum Hôtel national des Invalides which was the most successful for this 17th edition of the European Night of Museums with 8,052 visitors.

Many of you also went to the‘Arab World Institute (4667 visitors), at Orsay Museum (4589 visitors), to explore the national domain of Versailles (4007 visitors) and enter the Centre Pompidou (3727 visitors).

The Louvre museum welcomed 2,820 people, the Paris Mint Museum (2329), the Tokyo Palace (2266), the Decorative Arts Museum (2150), concierge (2042).

The air and space museum at Le Bourget received 1948 visitors, the castle of Fontainebleau (1702), the hunting and nature museum (1308), the MAC VAL (1242), the Cinémathèque (1090) and the National Museum of Asian Arts-Guimet (1002).

The top three for the regions

The Louvre-Lens museum welcomed 4,500 visitors during this European Night of Museums.

The Lille Palace of Fine Arts received 3,800 people.

The Lewarde historic mining center was chosen by 3005 people.

In Europe

The Ministry of Culture highlights three cities:

The Vicenza museums (Italy): 747 visitors

The Cerralbo museum in Madrid (Spain): 170 visitors

The Chieti Biomedical Science Museum (Italy): 414 visitors
