‘Cuéntamelo en Almería’, the storytelling route for the month of August, created by Consultora Contraportada for the Area of Tourism, Communications and Promotion of the City of Almería City Hall, has focused its premiere on the cinema and for this purpose has participated In the storyteller Indalecio Jones, the ‘double’ from Indiana, “with extensive experience in filming held in Almería”, the City Council pointed out in a press release.
This character has explained to the little ones the relationship of the city with the cinema, and how Harrison Ford and Sean Connery, directed by Steven Spielberg, “shot here next door, in the Cloister of the School of Arts”, among other scenes of the city and province. The Indiana Jones double has been accompanied by the local policeman Vicente Pascual to “bring order”.
The Councilor for Tourism, Communications and Promotion of the City, Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca, explained in the presentation of the initiative promoted by the Almería Municipal Tourist Company (EMAT) that “this storytelling route takes place in magical spaces in the city and it has characters closely linked to Almería and its history. From the City Council we can only support this type of initiative, which has a cultural and historical value for the little ones and which, in addition, will energize the main squares during this August”.
After starting in the Plaza Marqués de Heredia, the ‘Cuéntamelo en Almería’ route will continue on Wednesday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m., with the presence of a fisherman in the Plaza de la Iglesia in Cabo de Gata, who will narrate the relationship of the city with the sea. On Friday, August 11, the Plaza del Mar in El Toyo will host this storyteller, which will feature an athlete from the 2005 Mediterranean Games. Tuesday, August 29, a lifeguard will narrate the story in Costacabana. The activity will come to an end on August 31 at the Mirador de la Rambla with the presence of Jesús de Perceval.
