AirPods will get big improvements thanks to iOS 18.2
iOS 18.2 will land next month with exciting changes for iPhone, such as key Apple Intelligence features, including Siri integration with ChatGPT, Image Playground, or Genmoji. However, it is the first that will radically change the use of AirPods, since it will allow Apple’s assistant to be used directly through them.
The how ChatGPT works with Siri is very simple: when Siri cannot respond to a request, she will connect to the OpenAI chatbot, a process that can be accelerated in Settings by disabling connection permission. Additionally, it is possible to indicate “Ask GPT” at the beginning of the request for a direct response.
The combination of ChatGPT and AirPods will be key
Thanks to AirPods, it will be possible to use Siri with voice commands thanks to the H2 processor. This will allow us to use ChatGPT by our voice via Siri, without needing the OpenAI application or website, simply stating the order, the appeal form and the request.
I tested this this week and I can’t wait for it to arrive in French, because at the moment it is only available in English (but it will arrive in Spanish in April 2025) and, by voice, it is not possible to make the request in French, because it does not understand it.
