Created by the Les Maths en Scène association, the “Regards de Géomètre” exhibition is a device aimed at all students, from kindergarten to high school, as well as at regional establishments for adapted education (EREA). The objective is to enable them to produce an artistic and/or digital work in the form of a collaborative project which represents their mathematical, artistic and scientific viewpoint on a chosen theme (curves, measurements and lines, friezes, tilings, illusions, graphs, cartography). It is therefore a question of making people discover mathematical culture via the artistic and scientific world.
This exhibition, visible until June 10 in Puzzle, is the restitution of the work of the classes of the primary school of Guentrange, of the 3rd of the Section of general and professional education adapted (Segpa) of the Marie-Curie college, in Fontoy , 4th from Charlemagne college and second 4 from Rosa-Parks high school, in Thionville, with the support of artists Julien Abstract and Olyy Strange.
The students of Charlemagne, for example, had a course on the history of cartography and worked on this theme, by making maps of their neighborhood. Those of the 3rd Segpa de Fontoy, with the help of researcher Nathalie Braun, worked on the stained glass windows, but also on the measuring instruments from different periods, and made shapes by measuring and tracing to obtain an animal.
Exhibition until June 10, at Puzzle. Tuesday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, May 7 and June 4, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. FREE ENTRANCE.
