In a process of proximity and sharing, the regional branch of the Banque de France in Dijon will open its garden to the public for the first time on Saturday July 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This unique initiative offers visitors an educational walk combining history, biodiversity and financial education.
The Banque de France in Dijon invites the public to discover its exceptional site, nestled in the heart of the Burgundian city. The doors of the garden will be open without appointment from 10:00 a.m. via rue des Godrans. Accompanied by agents of the Banque de France, visitors will be able to take an instructive stroll through four stages along the route.
The first stage of the walk will take visitors through the history of the Hôtel de la Toison, built in 1643 and the seat of the Banque de France in Dijon since 1856. A rare opportunity to get close to this historic building and its secrets.
The route will continue with a second stop devoted to the development project for the Bank’s park. This project aims to strengthen the biodiversity of the site, in particular through the planting of local species and the installation of devices for the reproduction of natural habitats such as birdhouses and insect hotels. This moment will also make it possible to present to the people of Dijon the responsible investment strategy and the CSR policy of the Banque de France, reflecting its commitment to the environment.
During the third stage, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the various missions of the Banque de France, in particular those of the Dijon branch. They will also be made aware of the tools available to the Bank to support and supplement collective action in the fight against global warming: sustainable finance and the climate indicator.
Finally, the last stage of this educational walk offers the opportunity to discuss topical subjects such as inflation, monetary policy or the role of the Banque de France in maintaining price stability. These exchanges will be possible thanks to the presence of several economists from the Paris headquarters, in particular Mrs Marie-Laure Barut-Etherington, Deputy Director General of Statistics, Research and International Affairs, Mr Vladimir Borgy, macroeconomics adviser, and Mr. Thomas Zuber, economist-researcher.
It is therefore a day full of discoveries and exchanges offered by the Banque de France in Dijon. A great initiative that combines heritage enhancement, financial education and environmental awareness.
