At the time of the Napoleonic occupation, then, the castle became a shelter for beggars, with the hectares of land given to private individuals or used for agriculture. Therefore, starting from the following years, the descendants of the House of Savoy used it often and willingly, to the point that in 1887 a railway station dedicated to them was set up, that of Ozegna, dedicated precisely to the royals who wished to reach the castle and remained active until 1986.

Over the last few decades, then, as has already been the case for some time in historic English homes, for example, the castle has been used for the filming of several television or cinema productions, and Agliè has remained known to the most attentive viewers for being the location and the frame of the great love between Elisa Scalzi and the charming Count Ristori of Rivombrosawho, despite the girl’s humble origins, will not hesitate to lose his head for her.

A fiction that has mixed with reality, given that the two interpreters, or Vittoria Puccini and Alessandro Preziosi, just during the filming of the series they fell madly in love and were a steady couple until 2010, also having a daughter together.
