On Friday, a number of screenings of the “Dokovest” Film Festival, which has become one of the largest cultural events in Prizren, southern Kosovo, will be launched in a medieval castle. The festival has shown international short films and documentaries since 2002.
Two screens were placed on top of Prizren Castle, while a third screen is located in a square near the 17th-century Ottoman Sinan Pasha Mosque, making it a window to the world for local youth who face difficulties traveling abroad.
“Dokovest brought the world here,” said Fitun Nurkulari, director of the festival’s arts department.
This year, the festival will show more than 200 films, including documentaries, including films from Colombia, Tanzania, Britain, Canada and the United States.
