Discover the Bronze Sculptures of Rich at the Sainte-Même Art Gallery in Chartres

Until next Saturday, the Sainte-Même Art Gallery invites the Chartrain sculptor Rich to exhibit some of his works in bronze.

Awarded in many salons in France and abroad, he is the author of the Chemin de Mémoire de Chartres or the Monument for Peace in Champhol. Rich presents a dozen bronze works on his favorite themes: women, flight, elevation, the spirit of freedom. A profound hymn to movement and feminine lines, a true ode to the gentleness of its muses.

To better pierce the artist’s sources of inspiration, you have to discover his place of creation, which you reach after having plunged into a vegetal universe where many four-legged companions roam. To enter his artistic lair is to transport oneself out of time, to offer oneself a striking dreamlike journey with the mysterious unicorn, the majestic phoenix, the slender and lovingly molded forms of female bodies. Works combining tenderness and strength, elegance and lightness.

“I work my statues in plaster, then I make an imprint with a red sand mold to make the final bronze. I do not draw my creations upstream, I start directly from my idea by shaping a flat surface and then I assemble the parts. »

Convenient. Sainte-Même Art Gallery, 21, rue Sainte-Même in Chartres. Until Saturday July 29. Open Tuesday to Friday, from 3 to 8 p.m., and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. non-stop.
