“Discover the Best Cheapest Groceries Store in Prague with Unique European Brands”

Today, people are literally hungry for opportunities that allow them to buy food a little cheaper than the big foreign chain stores. They clearly blew it and are already being investigated by the authorities to see if it was even legal. However, it is questionable whether this will achieve anything. It is much easier for individuals to take advantage of a functioning market and look for alternatives.

It had to come

And that they are already appearing. A few days ago, we reported on the newly established store of the agricultural cooperative, which caused a literal sensation and where people from a wide area go today. Others then use nearby foreign countries and go shopping in Poland or Germany. However, the so far somewhat hidden shops, where the doors really don’t open today, arouse a really great interest.

Entire chains of so-called discount stores are already emerging, that is, stores that specialize in goods that ordinary supermarkets no longer want to sell, for a variety of reasons. They may have a little wrinkled packaging, but most often it is because they are nearing their expiration date or minimum shelf life. Sometimes they can be sold after it, but in the vast majority of cases it doesn’t matter.

We visited one such store in Prague on Budějovická. It’s called Cheapest Groceries and you can find it in the subway lobby. In the early evening, it was full, queues formed at the cash registers. Customers had packed shopping carts and were happy to share their experiences. Everyone left with a smile and a feeling of a well-made purchase.

What you will find there

A look at the shelves then showed the reason. You can really buy everything here, from sausages to dairy products to confectionery. We looked at several products and had to state that you definitely cannot buy cheaper elsewhere. One hundred grams of top ham is needed for 15 crowns, when the standard price is 35 CZK. Yogurts can be purchased here for six to seven crowns instead of the usual twenty.

Attractive brands that you won’t find anywhere else are also a big advantage. These stores do not use Czech distribution networks, but buy all over Europe, most often in Germany. In this way, these stores get quality goods intended for Western markets, while expensive supermarkets sell what is specially rigged for Eastern ones.
