Niort is a city of passage, where one does not necessarily think of stopping. The capital of the Deux-Sèvres department nevertheless has some assets that deserve a stop. For motorhome owners who wish to discover the city center, the municipality provides a beautiful service area. Located near the Bessac car park, it can accommodate up to 16 vehicles in a quiet location on the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise.
Separate locations
No barriers or payment terminals at the entrance. Campervans can set up freely. A town hall agent comes early in the morning to charge for the night’s stay. Although the pitches are quite small and sometimes difficult to access with a large vehicle, they have the advantage of being separated by stone walls and vegetation. This allows you to have a minimum of privacy and to benefit from shaded areas. The area even has two picnic tables.

Close to centers of interest
Its location is ideal. The Jardin des Plantes and the Pré-Leroy swimming pool are only a few meters away on foot. Just like the Donjon and the Halles, further south. The 12th century Donjon of Niort, a vestige of the city’s fortified castle, offers a magnificent panoramic view from the roof terrace.
