Discover the 2022 ranking of towns and villages where people live best in France

The Journal du Dimanche revealed this Sunday the 2022 ranking of towns and villages in France where life is good. For the first time in three years, the top of the rankings has changed. On the city side, Angers, replaces Annecy at the top of the ranking. In the category “village of less than 2000 inhabitants”, heading west, it is the Basque resort of Guéthary which passes in front of the Moselle town of Peltre, south of Metz.

“This edition confirms the recognition of medium-sized towns and villages, welcomes Thierry Saussez, the president of the association in the pages of the JDD. It allows us to change our view of these municipalities and more generally to push back this ‘hideous word of province’, as André Malraux used to say.”

The desires, moreover, noticed after the confinement can explain that the classification is turned upside down this year. Adding a category “real estate attractiveness” in this classification, is another explanation, can we read in the JDD. Real estate, precisely, finds itself at the heart of these upheavals with a record 1.2 million transactions recorded in one year, from November 2020 to November 2021.
