Discover orienteering without leaving the city

Leave the compass in hand in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds. An urban orienteering course was launched on Saturday in the heart of the watchmaking metropolis. It is a gift given to the city by the Neuchâtel Orientation Association, ANCO, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

For the occasion, the regional and double world champion Marc Lauenstein set off on the course. However, you don’t have to be a professional to meet the challenge. The course is open to all. Three routes of different length are available, ranging from 50 minutes to 2 hours. Participants must have an orientation map which they can obtain via a downloadable application or from the La Chaux-de-Fonds Tourist Office. Details with Jean-Claude Guyot, president of the committee of 50e ANCO anniversary:

The inauguration of this urban orienteering course coincides with the 11e anniversary of the inclusion of watchmaking town planning in the Neuchâtel Mountains as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a birthday celebrated this Saturday. In Le Locle, for example, three walks are also inaugurated for the occasion. / sbe
