Discover new passions in confinement

Develop your creativity

Mya and Geneva, both aged 12, are passionate about creation. One through the visual arts, the other through the culinary arts. Containment has proven to be favorable to fuel their creativity.

After taking part in online pastry camps a few times since last summer, Geneva has embarked on the preparation of a wide variety of desserts, much to the delight of family and friends. Whether it’s cakes, cupcakes, bread, or even macaroons.

It’s really relaxing, I love creation and I love to eat the pastries!, explains Geneva Figueroa.

The Figueroa family are used to being very active, especially in swimming, but with the closing of the pools, they try to continue training in a different way, while eating the pastries!

This is especially good with COVID, it [Geneva] spend a lot more time at home baking pastries, but the result is a lot of exercise!

Geneva’s good friend, Mya, lets her creativity run free on canvas.

I love painting because I love to create things. I also like to draw simple things like gardens, or dogs.

Enjoy the nice weather

At the Gilroys, the family has made a long list of many interesting activities, both indoors and outdoors, to pass the time.

Maya, 7, proudly reads it: we are going to play games with the family, rollerblade, scooter, bike, hike.

With her 10-year-old sister, Fiona, they take advantage of the bike path in their neighborhood almost every day to ride inline skates.

Their new discovery is to play music and dance at the same time.

It is an interesting challenge to reproduce dance movements while rolling, it is not easy.

Eve explains that her daughters usually take dance lessons and that this new activity may have some connection with the lessons they are currently deprived of.

As with many families, the past few months have been trying at times. Eve says she noticed in January that her daughters were a little less playful than usual, including online education.

With spring having set in, the family is therefore trying to make the most of the good weather to organize outdoor activities.
