Discourse on the duet of presidential candidates (bacapres) from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo and vice president of the Change Coalition for Unity Anies Baswedan is sticking out. Deputy General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, said that the discourse was a challenge for presidential candidate Gerindra Prabowo Subianto.
“So that’s a challenge. Eating it will be the difference between Gerindra friends being consistent with 100 percent sustainability. We will not mix extreme change and sustainability. I don’t know how to do it if someone wants to mix sustainability and change. If we are 100 percent, we will continue Pak Jokowi’s achievements,” said Habiburokhman in Condet, East Jakarta, Saturday (26/8/2023).
Habiburokhman was reluctant to speculate about the discourse on the Ganjar and Anies duo. Even if it materializes, continued Habiburokhman, he is sure Prabowo can still win in the 2024 presidential election.
“Yes, we are even more optimistic (to win), very, very sure, that is precisely the key to our victory. Because we are consistent in our attitude, we are continuing this very good situation. We just have to continue with the achievements that have been very optimal,” he said.
Habiburokhman added, his party is focused on going straight ahead to continue the success achieved. He believes Prabowo will win the political contest.
“In fact, it is getting worse, because there is differentiation there is a mix between sustainability and extreme change, the two extremes, if we move straight forward, sustainability,” he added.
As is known, the chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Said Abdullah, previously expressed the supposition that Ganjar and Anies would unite. Said initially responded to the issue of Ganjar winning head to head with Anies. Said is reluctant to underestimate while assuming Ganjar and Anies become one force.
“Even though we won over Mas Anies, we don’t feel complacent. Especially if Ganjar had to go head to head with Pak Prabowo, we still narrowly lost. Of course this will be used as evaluation material to improve the winning strategy for Ganjar Pranowo,” Said told reporters, Monday (21/2019). 8).
Even so, Said believes that Anies is not a competitor whose electability should be underestimated. He then said that the two of them could merge into one force in 2024.
“For us, Anies Baswedan is not a competitor to be underestimated. He and Ganjar are intelligent potential leaders. The two of them share the same alma mater, the greatest campus in Indonesia, namely Gajah Mada University. Especially if the two of them can join as one force, of course there will be the better for the future of our national leadership in the future, both are still young, smart, and energetic,” he said.
