The 10% refund for purchases in butcher shops paid with debit cards will begin to apply on Wednesday and will be valid until the end of the year, within the framework of the Fair Meat Prices program launched by the national government.
The measure will be extended until December 31 of this year, with the benefit of a 10% refund for consumers and a 90-day deferral in the payment of tax obligations to butcher shops that register to participate in the program.
The operations must be carried out in establishments dedicated to the commercialization of beef, with a return limit of up to $2,000 per month, and will be valid for transactions made through payment terminals, as well as through QR codes.
When will the recomposition of the price of meat end?
The Federal Administration of Public Revenues regulated this measure through general resolution 5330/2023 for final consumers who make purchases in butcher shops with a debit, prepaid or similar card associated with accounts opened in financial or fintech entities.
At the same time and as part of the comprehensive program to promote the production and consumption of beef announced in mid-February by the Government, the regulation grants businesses registered in the regime three months of grace for the payment of VAT or the component tax of the monotributo in the cases in which they are adhered to the simplified regime.
Consumers, for their part, will be able to access the list of businesses registered on the AFIP website, as well as the list of financial and fintech entities that join the refund regime.
Fair Prices
This measure is added to the Fair Meat Prices program -in replacement of Careful Cuts- that came into effect on February 17 and will be in force until March 31 with 30% reductions for seven cuts in large supermarket chains.
Fair Meat Prices has a volume of 18,000 tons per month of steer beef for sale in supermarket chains with the following prices: roast, $1,031 per kilo; the buttock, $1,375; the matambre, $1,310; the void, $1,351; the skirt, $675; the palette, $1,113; and the roast cover, $1,035.
Then, these cuts provided mainly by the companies grouped in the Consortium of Meat Exporters (ABC) will have a guideline of 3.2% monthly increase until June 30. (with information from Telam)
