For many activities, the restrictions will be removed. For example, from September 1 you can dance again at a wedding, working from home is no longer the advice and there are no longer any rules for receiving guests in the house. In cafes and restaurants, all measures are canceled, only when visitors move do they still have to wear a mouth cap.

Mouth caps stay on

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo states that it is possible to let go of measures because of the high vaccination rate. In Belgium, you still have to wear mouth caps in public places where it is busy and the 1.5 meter distance rule continues to exist.

Belgium is at the top of the world list in terms of vaccination coverage. Nevertheless, De Croo announces a proposal for a vaccination obligation for employees of healthcare institutions. In addition, hundreds of thousands of vulnerable Belgians will receive a third shot next autumn.

Brussels

Things are not going well everywhere. In Brussels, far fewer people are being protected against the corona virus. Due to the high number of infections, the relaxation in the capital will not take place and even stricter measures will be introduced.

Measures can also be taken in municipalities where less than 70 percent has had an injection. De Croo: „Where we have a weak vaccination coverage, there are gaps in our defence. We go door-to-door if necessary.”
