Discord has introduced the following changes to its app usage policy, this time more focused on protecting children and teens on the platform. The move comes after reports surfaced that Discord was being used as a place to distribute child sexual abuse material.
In order to correct the situation, Discord is currently taking several measures. First, the platform now completely bans the publication of artificial intelligence (AI) generated photorealistic images of child sexual exploitation. Second, the app prohibits the distribution of any other type of text or media content that sexualizes children. Third, Discord has also decided to ban teen dating servers and impose penalties on those involved in creating and managing such servers. In connection with this, it was previously discovered that nude photos were requested from underage members of these servers.

In addition to these rules, Discord recently introduced a Family Center tool. With its help, parents can keep track of their children’s activities on this platform. Although parents do not have the ability to see their children’s correspondence, they can be aware of which users the child communicates with.
