Discord is having an outage. The service says it is investigating reports from users who see themselves being blocked. This appears to be due to a malfunction at Cloudflare.
The glitch seems to mainly occur in the Windows app, but not on mobile devices. Users who want to use the service will see a notification coming from Cloudflare. It says that users have been blocked due to Cloudflare protection.
Discord cancels its own status page that it is investigating an ‘increasing number of API errors’. The company does not provide details. The outage started around 1:16 PM Dutch time and is still ongoing. Discord now says it has identified the problem; there would be many increases in traffic, causing users to be ‘temporarily blocked’.
It is not known where the problem is located. Some users on Reddit report that it only occurs in Chrome, but not in Firefox. The official desktop app is a Chromium wrapper of the website so it doesn’t seem to work, but it should in Firefox.
