Oil deliveries along the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline through Ukraine have been halted. Ukrtransnafta explained the previous day’s closure due to damage to the energy infrastructure that feeds the compressor stations.
“In Ukraine, the section was cut off, from Brod to the Carpathians”, — the adviser to the president of Transneft told RIA Novosti Igor Demin.
He clarified that the timing of the resumption of deliveries is unknown and deliveries are still ongoing through the Belarusian section.
On the evening of November 15, Transneft and the Hungarian MOL announced the suspension of supplies along the southern branch of Druzhba through Ukraine to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The reason would have been a rocket attack that the Russian military inflicted on the objects of the energy system of Ukraine.
“What is encouraging is the information that the Druzhba pipeline itself was not damaged, an infrastructure element, a substation, was damaged,” – said the next day the head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Peter Siarto. Such repairs are obviously easier and can be done in a short amount of time depending on the level of damage, the minister added.
