Disco Woolloomooloo becomes test location | Inland

“Rapid test streets are being set up all over the Netherlands. One is even more expensive than the other. We offer an affordable location, ”said founders Timo van de Wetering (23) and Bouwe van Neerbos (22). They are members of the USC and both work for a pharmacy group. Timo: “I live in a student house and found out that it is difficult if you have to wait a long time together for someone’s test result.”

Through his work he was able to decorate the new street. An advantage is that the street is in the center.

Walking distance

“Sometimes you are sent far out of town for a test. Many students have no means of transport for this. We want you to be able to take a test in the center, within walking distance of your student house. ”

The GGD Regio Utrecht is not involved in the commercial test streets. Spokesperson Lydia van der Meer of the GGDRU hopes that these test streets will refer positively tested people. “For us it is very important that people who are tested positive are registered with us for source and contact research. We have no control over this on the commercial streets and hope that the positively tested people will end up with us. ”

Next Monday, an XXL test pavilion will be opened behind the Jaarbeurs. Van der Meer: “We are starting with regular PCR tests, but also hope to be able to get started with rapid tests as soon as possible. We are still waiting for approval from the ministry. These rapid tests will then be free, just like the PCR tests. ” There is currently no waiting time for testing. Anyone who calls can immediately go to one of the GGD test streets in the region.

The students of the Corps especially hope that they can do their bit against the transfer of corona. Ultimately, the Woolloomooloo should become a disco again. Incidentally, the location happened to be renovated and clean last summer, making it suitable as a test location.

The test street is professionally designed. A lung specialist is ultimately responsible and nurses administer the test. Everything is done according to the guidelines of the RIVM. People will receive the results within 15 minutes.
