It has been a painful week for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. They lost at home to Crystal Palace despite a number of chances (0-1) and are therefore doing very poorly in the title race. They lost badly in the Europa League on Thursday.

After the draw at Manchester United on the previous matchday, Liverpool no longer had a margin in the title race and were dealt a new blow after fifteen minutes. After a clever combination, Eberechi Eze gave Crystal Palace the lead: 0-1.
It was the 21st time in 32 league matches that Liverpool had fallen behind and this time the troops of the retiring Jürgen Klopp were unable to mount a comeback.
Great chances either hit the crossbar or the goalkeeper or a Crystal Palace defender. Endo saw his header hit the crossbar and Nunez, Jones and Salah were also unable to take advantage of any of the opportunities.
Liverpool’s season seems to end on a down note. The League Cup trophy will be little consolation after the defeat at home to Atalanta in the Europa League earlier this week (0-3) and the downer now against Crystal Palace.
