Disappointment as Starfield Collector’s Edition Watch Breaks After Just One Month

Starfield was a disappointment to many, and the same can be said for the much-hyped watch that Bethesda included in the Collector’s Edition of the game. It was supposed to be a stylish accessory for all Starfield fans to have something to be proud of on their wrists, but the watch started breaking just a month after the game itself was released.

Now fans seem to be convinced that the clock was only included in Starfield so that Bethesda would have something to include in the Collector’s Edition. This theory came up with redditor TrevortheBatmanand many share the same opinion – the post has more than 6.9 thousand likes at the time of writing.

TrevortheBatman argues that the watch is “not nearly as important or iconic as the Pip-Boy.” They are given to you at the beginning of the game, and then they are nowhere to be seen. Many have noted that the clock interface is visible in the corner of the screen during the game, but TrevortheBatman is outraged that the physical clock itself is practically not shown after the start, and Bethesda included it only so that it would have something to put in the Collection.

Many Starfield fans share this opinion and wish the game had menu transition animations like Fallout. Novapunk8675309 admits that he “completely forgot about their existence”, and Fun-Preparation-4253 says that the rare mention of clocks by passing NPCs always takes him by surprise.

Bethesda doesn’t have the best reputation with Collector’s Editions, as anyone who suffered through Fallout 76’s infamous Collector’s Edition knows. Starfield hasn’t been that bad so far, but it feels like the publisher hasn’t been able to find anything iconic enough for the Collector’s Edition. , and the watch was the best option at that time.
