Disappointment and Criticism Surround Red Dead Redemption’s Port Release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

Rockstar Games announced yesterday that the first Red Dead Redemption will receive new versions for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. Taking into account the older speculations that indicated the arrival of a remaster or a remake, but there was a large part of the players disappointed by the introduction of “mere” portswhich, in addition to the reactions on social networks, is also evidenced by the prevailing negative evaluation announcement trailer.

The players criticize above all the absence of multiplayer and technical improvements, which would at least increase the framerate or resolution. There is no satisfaction even with the price, which was set at 50 euros. In this regard, users point to the version originally intended for the Xbox 360, which can also be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 60 FPS and 4K resolution thanks to backward compatibility without additional investment.

Rockstar is also reminded of an earlier statement in which representatives of the studio claimed that they don’t want to do simple ports of older games. Below you can see a few selected posts from Twitter. Red Dead Redemption will be on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 (also on PlayStation 5 thanks to backward compatibility) available August 17.
