Instead of success, it turned out to be a lifelong shame.
The legendary series “Clone” won the hearts of viewers around the world. It is not surprising that in the wake of the resounding success, many filmmakers took up remakes.
So, “Clone” decided to reshoot in Mexico. However, the series was pelted with rotten tomatoes, and here’s why. The Mexican version turned out to be several times weaker than the original due to the meager scenery and slurred acting.
Most of all, the creators got the family of Mohammed and Latifa. In the Brazilian version, this couple was almost exemplary: the spouses doted on each other and managed to find an approach to children, albeit through thorns. All four actors played their parts convincingly, and there was a connection between them. But the Mexicans got only a miserable copy.
The members of Mohammed’s family looked aloof, as if they were nobody to each other. The actors were not chosen as well as in the original – here the children did not at all look like on-screen parents. The audience also noted that Samira failed to convey the full range of experiences of the heroine that tormented her.
