Sadio Mane failed to put on the best performance in his first season at Bayern Munich. Thomas Tuchel also admitted that the Senegalese bomber was far from his team’s expectations.
Bayern bought Mane from Liverpool in the summer of 2022. Mane was bought for 41 million euros and signed a three-year contract.
Expected to be a goal machine, Mane actually sluggish at Bayern. He mostly came off the bench and scored 12 goals in 38 matches in all competitions.
Sadio Mane even punched his teammate, Leroy Sane, after the defeat at Manchester City headquarters. Bayern Munich fined the 31-year-old attacker.
Bayern are not satisfied with what Mane has given them. The Reds also reportedly ready to sell the player in the 2023 summer market.
Bayern Munich Coach, Thomas Tuchel, openly called Mane’s performance disappointing. According to him Mane is not as expected.
“He is far from expectations. The competition here is very high, going down as a starter is not easy for him,” said Thomas Tuchel to Sport1.
“The players also know that. He understands my opinion and the opinion of the club,” he said regarding Mane.
Bayern Munich start targeting other strikers when Sadio Mane really sold. One of those being hunted is the Tottenham Hotspur bomber, Harry Kane.
