The Boston Celtics started the new year with a listless loss in Detroit to a modest Pistons who won 96-93 with 24 points from Jerami Grant and 17 from rookie Saddiq Bey. Another disappointing day for the disoriented Boston quintet at the start of the season.
The first part was completely depressing. In the first room, the Celtics lost more balls than the baskets made so that early in the game, the Pistons took double-digit leads that were responsible for stretching to 21 points in the second quarter.

Jayson Tatum looked completely passive and does not find his game while on the defensive side he was the team in general who couldn’t find a way to stop Jerami Grant.
In the third set, Jaylen Brown set the momentum for the Celtics to get within six points on the scoreboard. Tatum had 14 points in the fourth to fuel the green offense after Brown himself suffered his fourth personal foul on an infamous charge after the Detroit center ran over him.

On the other hand, JB took over starting the last quarter and with seven consecutive points, he put the Boston Celtics up on the scoreboard for the first time in the game.

How are you going to get through the last 4:15 without scoring Detroit?
However, when the game seemed theoretically controlled by Brad Stevens, they spent the last 4:15 of the game without scoring a point and in this way, as simple as it was disappointing, the Detroit Pistons won the game 96-93.
Jayson Tatum scored 28 points with 6 rebounds on a poor 3 of 11 from 3-pointers and Jaylen Brown added another 25 with 9 rebounds in the fall of some Celtics who had three shots to tie the game and managed to miss each and every one of them.
