During an interaction with LadBible, the cricket fan shared that he loved the process of watching him become the face of a viral trend. Plus, he loved how people used his viral shot in creative aspects, paving the way to instant stardom. While reflecting on the whole journey from being a cricket fan to becoming an internet celebrity, Sarim said it was nothing short of an out of body experience for him. Although he had heard and watched people become memes and go viral, he had no idea what it was like to be one of them.

“To experience this has been great, an out of body experience. I had heard of people becoming memes, but going through it, living it, was just breathtaking,” he said. The Pakistani cricket fan received several responses from his close friends and family members, but he recalls the best reaction came from his parents. According to Sarim, her parents always watch all her interviews from the past as it always turns them on. “The best reaction came from my parents, still to this day they want to see every interview I’ve done, every article that’s been written about me, it excites them,” he explained.

For those unaware, his disappointed look came after Pakistan’s Asif Ali, who Sarim had pinned hopes on to lead the team to victory, dropped a crucial hold during the game. This eventually led to the opposing team Australia defeating Pakistan by 40 points. That’s when cameras captured Sarim’s expression in the stadium, looking disappointed, angry and tired at the same time, with both hands resting on his waist. The look captured by the stadium camera was broadcast live around the world.
