It was one of 40 priority files studied from the Ariane cell created by the gendarmerie in January 2018 to try to establish whether Nordahl Lelandais, murderer of little Maëlys de Araujo and corporal Arthur Noyer, it could have caused other casualties in the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes region. The skull of 47-year-old Éric Foray, who disappeared on 16 September 2016 in Chatuzange-le-Goubet (Drôme), a village at the foot of the Vercors, has just been found in this massif.
