It’s been more than a month now since Mélodie Mendes Da Silva disappeared. The 34-year-old young woman, mother of two children aged 9 and 15, has not given any sign of life since November 3, 2023. The last images of her date from 6:15 p.m. that day, when surveillance cameras filmed her leaving her building in the 4th arrondissement of Marseille . Mélodie then allegedly got into a car – of her own free will, according to a witness – before her phone finally stopped ringing a little over an hour later, at 7:24 p.m. precisely, in the 11th arrondissement. Since then, the young woman of Cape Verdean origin seems to have disappeared. On November 17, 2023, the investigation finally took a criminal turn when it was reclassified as “arbitrary kidnapping, arrest, detention and confinement”. It is now the banditry suppression brigade (BRB) of the Marseille judicial police which is responsible for the investigations. And according to our colleagues from Le Parisien, the police are interested in the profile of Pearl Rocha, the companion of the missing woman, and the couple’s inconsistent lifestyle.
Indeed, Mélodie and Pearl’s habits do not match their official income.
