For several years, Kyle (22) had disappeared without a trace. With a mysterious phone call to the parents, the mystery of the disappearance took a completely new turn – before a surprising discovery was made in the river.
The rusty and dripping car, a Ford Pinto Runabout 74 model, was pulled meter by meter up the river using strong cables.
The tip about the old vehicle littering the river in the small town of Cusseta had come in to the police station in Chambers County in Texas on the morning of Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
The car had Georgia license plates, and a patriotic county sticker as a distinguishing feature. Routinely, this information was submitted to be checked against public registers, in search of the car’s owner.
But the case would quickly turn out to be something completely different than a random car in a river:
Because the owner of the car had disappeared without a trace for 45 years.
