Disappearance of Delphine Jubillar in the Tarn: the “Sherlock Holmes of the net” conduct their investigation

the essential
Very many anonymous are carrying out the investigation in their corner to try to find Delphine Jubillar, disappeared in Cgnac-les-Mines in December 2020. They exchange their information on the internet and social networks.

It is unusual. To date, nearly 10,000 people participate and are subscribed to Facebook groups that evoke the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar. A priori, these groups have two main goals: to learn about the progress of the investigation, but also to support the family of the missing.

But behind the scenes is a bit darker and more complex. If our calculations are correct, there would be about ten groups dedicated to the case. And each one gathers new members every day. Hurried departure? Bad encounter ? Kidnapping? … Some ardently defend their theory on the disappearance of the young woman from Cagnac-les-Mines, even making their own hypotheses, forecasts or simple intuitions. Some groups are rather “pro Cédric Jubillar”. Others, clearly defend the thesis of the implication of the husband and there, the keyboards are released until conflicts… virtual.

And conversely, some groups want to be “benevolent” and refuse to don this hat of net investigators and especially advocate the solidarity approach, as on “Adorable Delphine”. “When I created this group in January, it was really to follow the investigation and to exchange in respect, without accusing anyone without proof. But also and above all, to support Delphine, her children, her family and all her relatives in equal parts, ”explains one of the administrators of the group, which has only about forty members. “Indeed, there are not many of us, but at least there are no quarrels, no arguments,” she adds.

On certain groups, there is an “ethics” and the administrators pay great attention to the positions of their members. This is what this administrator confides: “We don’t really have any rules, but we ask members to remain courteous and respectful to everyone. And it works very well. This group is really the image of what I wanted “, added this Internet user, who says she is” very touched “by this disappearance. Poems, songs, animated images with flowers, photo montages with many hearts… Every day on this group, an Internet user thinks of Delphine, hopes for a happy ending and shares it publicly.

Groups revealing information and a force for proposals

It is also on these Facebook groups that several key moments of the investigation took place. Some relatives of Delphine, but also of Cédric Jubillar, like his mother Nadine Jubillar – who in February, posted a “rant” to defend her son – interact on social networks and some of them have even announced the reactivation of the young woman’s Facebook account, for a few minutes, in January. A significant detail studied by the investigators.

It is also on these groups that some people have decided, on their own, to organize hikes near Cagnac-les-Mines in search of clues. Others, such as clairvoyants, mediums or dowsers – always very present in the scene during cases of disappearances or murders – were invited to the heart of the investigation.

All these Internet users, in their own way, have an opinion, an explanation, a conviction or even a hypothesis on the why and how of the disappearance of Delphine Jubillar, which they publish every day on the web. And as the days go by, internet users are getting impatient.

“We all want her to be found”, “eagerly that we discover the truth”, “what happened to her? »… So many unanswered questions, which push them, day after day, to want to get more involved at the risk, plausible, of” polluting “the survey.
