Disagree with Extending President’s Term, Gibran: Mother Has Even Been Packing

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Mayor of Solo as well as the eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) disagree the term of the presidency extended to three terms.

Gibran said his party complied with the constitution that the president’s term of office is two terms.

“I’ve made a statement that I don’t agree, my sister (Kaesang Pangarep) has made a statement that she doesn’t agree, the person concerned (President Jokowi) has a statement that she doesn’t agree, the rules are like that, we’ll follow the rules,” said Gibran in an exclusive interview with AIMAN on Kompas TV, Monday (16/16). /5/2022).

In fact, Gibran revealed that his mother, Iriana Joko Widodo, has begun to gradually pack her belongings at the Presidential Palace to her residence in Solo, Central Java, even though Jokowi’s term will only end in 2024.

Therefore, he re-emphasized that his party was following the existing rules, namely the presidential term of office for two terms.

“What kind of center, please, if I don’t (agree with the extension of the president’s term of office),” he said.
