A big scandal broke out over a secret until recently meeting, organized in a healthy Masonic spirit by party businessman Georgi Gergov. He has long been doing business along with political activity, scandals have been swirling around him for a long time, it is also known about his honorary consulate of Russia in our country. What’s new is that he was compromised as a confidential broker, and that will cost him dearly.
He was kicked out by another musher from politics – Sasho Donchev, who once settled and got rich in the gas trade from Russia alongside the BKP/BSP under Andrey Karlovich. Today, however, it is very close to the pro-American “Yes, Bulgaria” of Hristo Ivanov.
The Russian part of the Gergov-Donchev connection is obvious, but it is not the only one. The connection between Gergov and Ninova is also on the surface, it is like an intertwined cable. However, the leader of the social party immediately ran to the wind, asked for his resignation, threatened to leave her, and with dignity, whatever that means in this case.
But she, as the chairman of the party, has no reason to attack him! Gergov does not appear in this meeting as a member of the top management, or even simply as a party member. So far, he has repeatedly done her many favors personally, put a strong shoulder to her election as party leader, has given a lot to the party during elections and other events. For which he was undoubtedly thanked both by Positano 20 and by her personally. She even offered him the post of vice president, made him a member of the Izpolnotoburo, defended him from his many detractors in the party.
There is no partisan, much less personal, motive to kill such an extremely useful player in her career. Only one explanation remains: she was tipped to act in a way that she could not refuse, most likely the threat of compromising material. Why else, along with the demand for Gergov’s resignation, will he emphasize thickly: “I respect the position of the chief prosecutor, which is concrete – zero tolerance for any businessman who tries to put himself above the law and impose his interests”?
Ninova is not stupid, she knows what she is risking. Gergov will take revenge at the first opportunity, with the internal motivation that he was hit by her completely undeservedly. He has already stated that he will speak more next week, hinting that there are “many skeletons in the party that are yet to come out”. The chairman will have even more serious troubles from the party’s active side. On Saturday, at a national council, she was already asked sharply “who is the next one who will be chased from the leadership in this way”. Ninova exposed herself not only to Gergov, but to many others.
She was actively protected only by Rumen Ovcharov, who is, however, a client of the prosecutor’s office. Sasho Donchev, who committed suicide, is also a client of the state prosecution. It is shameful for a business person to publicize the very fact of an informal meeting, especially when he himself requested it. Especially if he sought her out himself through an intermediary, which is obvious. In addition, the gas baron adds several outright lies, so the unworthy act looks like slander. To make a victim, as “Trud” already wrote. And also that he, not Tsatsarov, was interested in the meeting in question because of a letter from the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office (SGP). Obviously, it was precisely this that startled and strengthened Donchev towards Gergov for a friendly business arm.
The Attorney General is not someone lacking in common sense to arrange an informal mediation meeting with him only to threaten him in front of a witness because of his support for a party and an artist’s cartoons.
Even if Tsatsarov wanted to tell him these things, it would have been enough for him to have done it months ago through the same or another intermediary, if he hadn’t gone crazy to do it personally after the actions of the SGP! But that’s all the yes-Bulgarians, Prokopiev and Donchev could have created – a dirty little act at the level of the “great” lawyer Hristo Ivanov. For a whole month after the meeting, they thought about it, cut and sewed it, so that it could be scratched and Ivanov would receive a receipt: “Resignation!”
These verbal equilibrists in the media and petty devils in politics after the failure of “Yes, Bulgaria” in the last elections, they badly need some kind of noticeable victory, otherwise they will completely flounder. Dissatisfied with the outcome of the meeting with Georgi Gergov, the gas businessman Sasho Donchev probably shared a table with this company about it and in the manipulations around it they saw an opportunity to attack the chief prosecutor.
In a similar way some time ago, the Prokopians attacked the chief prosecutor Nikola Filchev with furious hysteria. The state prosecution had picked up more than 200 privatization transactions, in particular those with Damianitsa and Diamant-Razgrad vinprom, in response a series of dirty actions against him and demands for his resignation followed. The fire was mainly fueled by the Capital circle, the analogies to their present-day filth are numerous.
Georgi Gergov asks “what bad did he do”. Most likely he did not want it, but with this meeting he put the chief prosecutor in an awkward position even under another blow from a group of clients of the prosecutor’s office. The red businessman has failed as a mediator, for people valuable to him outside the BSP, he is already insecure in this capacity. Therefore, the trust in him as a business person will be limited to the inevitable lasting unpleasant consequences.
There have been many informal meetings of this kind, there will be more in the future, they have long been accepted as the norm in the countries that tirelessly advise us how to do democracy and market economy. Sotir Tsatsarov, with his power, did not arrange anything for Sasho Donchev, he even refused him, and that is exactly why he is trying to discredit him. It is much more interesting how the inspection of the SGP will end regarding the actions of “Overgas Inc” JSC and “the risks to natural gas supplies and destabilization of the gas market in the country, as well as endangering the financial and economic security of energy companies”.
