Around 7 p.m., a report was received by the police that a dirt bike rider had left home and was now missing. Half an hour later, the injured man was found in the rural area between the Hagedijk and the Oude Rijksweg. The emergency services were then sent to the place where the man lay.
The victim was lying on a property next to the railway line. In addition to the police and ambulance, the fire brigade was also called. They came to the scene of the accident with an all-terrain vehicle to take the victim to an ambulance. A trauma team came to the accident by car from Rotterdam.
The man was rushed to a hospital outside the region around 8:30 p.m. Due to the accident, train traffic at the scene had to temporarily pass at an adjusted speed.
