Deivi Garcia, one of the prospects of New York Yankees, was sent to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will allow the Dominican to gain experience in Minor leagues in order to earn a spot on the main roster.
“I know that more opportunities will come, just like last year. Well, I’m going to try to take advantage of it. I will try to take advantage of those opportunities and do my best. I’m going to try to stay healthy, ”he declared.
With this decision, his compatriot Domingo Germán will be the fifth starter of the New York franchise at the beginning of the 2021 season. Meanwhile, García has a 3.86 ERA in 14 innings in the Grapefruit League.
He also recognized that he must improve his mechanics in the rotation of the pitches. “I understand that I can correct it easily, because last year, before going up to the Major Leagues, that also happened to me and I was able to make some small adjustments there and I could have good results when they raised me,” he said.
