The diocese of Saint-Dié is looking for a director of economic and social affairs – diocesan treasurer (M/F).
Description of the professional environment
The diocese of Saint-Dié covers the Vosges region and the economic management of the institution is carried out by the Diocesan Association; the guidelines are defined by the bishop with his Council for Economic Affairs (CDAE) and implemented by the commission service of the bishop with the support of the Economic Interest Group (EIG) “the two bishops”.
Job Description
Under the authority of the bishop, or in anticipation of the bishop’s administrator, in close contact with the actors of the CDAE and the GIE, the treasurer ensures consistency between pastoral options and economic methods; In particular, it performs the following missions:
Part of economic issues:
- Manage the administrative, accounting, financial and fiscal management of diocesan activities
- Optimize purchases, cash flow and financial assets
- Administration of the real estate of the entire diocese (existing park, current and future projects); ensure risk management and prevention (insurance, etc.)
- Contribute to the development of resources (fundraising campaigns, donations, legacies, rental income, etc.).
- Guarantee good administrative and legal management of the various structures of the diocese (respect and expression of civil law and canon law)
Relational and social aspect:
- Lead a small team; planning and coordinating the activities of the service related to the GIE
- Manage Human Resources in conjunction with the HR commission
- Join and support the parish treasurers in their mission
- Promote and maintain close relationships, in an informed and constructive manner, with the various stakeholders in the diocese (priests, lay volunteers and staff, service managers, etc.).
- Ensure the interface with external contacts (accountant, auditor, service providers and partners, etc.)
- Actively participate in the Regional and French bursars meetings
- Cooperate closely and report regularly to the bishop’s authority
Profile:
- Higher education, strong experience in controlling finances, buildings and furniture; good legal culture (associations, buildings, labor law and ideally canon law)
- ecclesiastical roots
- Ability to analyze and identify with a concern for methodology and rigor
- Quality of presence in listening, diplomacy and teaching
- Integrity, confidentiality, reliability in commitment
- A spirit of service, linked to subsidy and loyalty
Condition setting
- Full-time permanent contract – Start date: December 2024
- Work Location: Épinal – Frequent travel within the department
