Director Vinayan Speaks Out on Film Associations’ Non-Cooperation with Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi

Director Vinayan reacted to the announcement of film organizations that they will not cooperate with Shane Nigam and Srinath Bhasi. Vinayan said that he is of the opinion that those who bribe the producer and the director should be kept on the line whether it is an actor or an actress. The director’s response was through a Facebook post.

Vinayan also mentioned what he had to face in the past. Everyone was unitedly ready to cut the hand of whoever pointed the finger against the superstars. Vinayan mentioned in the note that you can forget the leader who walked out of the meeting saying that he could not lift a single finger against the players, but he could not.

The full form of the Facebook note is as follows…

Now is the time for steps and purification to regain the lost discipline in Malayalam cinema.
My opinion is that the actors and actresses who are showing their love to the producer and director after putting money in their account should be kept on the line drawn…

No one who loves cinema has any doubt that there should be a strong and impartial action against this by the leadership of the film organizations.
As a filmmaker who has worked in Malayalam cinema for more than 30 years and as a person who has been in charge of some organizations for some time and has clear views and wealth of experience in this regard, I have decided to remain silent in view of what is happening now. Meanwhile, Adv Harshad Hameed in Delhi called me yesterday.. Mr. Harshad Hameed, who is also a film connoisseur, is the lawyer who argued for me in the Indian Competition Commission and later in the Supreme Court when the film organizations appealed against the CCI’s decision. When I was told, I changed my decision and thought I would write a note..

If things reached a point where even an actor named Shane Nigam, who has no market, said that if he showed me and my mother the edited portion and convinced me, I would come to act. It doesn’t matter if the leaders of the organization lamented about it now.. The first thing they should do is to repent of their role in making stardom worse in many ways..

There is a complaint against Srinath Bhasi that he did not reach the shooting on time after giving the date. It is a permanent mistake.. no doubt. It is known to all filmmakers in Malayalam cinema that I strongly opposed such violations of discipline even in the leadership of the organization.
In 2006, senior director Tulsidas brought a complaint that an actor, who had paid the full salary in advance and given an agreement date, was still following the director and producer like a dog, when the general body of the organization was called and told that the said actor (Mr. Dileep) should resolve the issue within three months. (It should be noted that it is not cooperation or prohibition) Today, the leaders of this organization stood with that actor.. I split the organization of which I was the secretary and created an organization for these actors without any restrictions. What falsehoods and personal assassinations were made about me that day to justify your actions. You stood that day to kill me who said that discipline was needed.. You all needed that actor who had reached the status of superstar..

Not only that, all of you were unitedly ready to cut the hand of whoever pointed the finger against the superstars. Don’t forget that that was the policy of most of the prominent people of that time. The Ditastambham scandal will give us a date too.. You can forget the leader who walked out of the meeting saying that he can’t even lift a finger against the big stars, but I can’t. I had to go after the law when I saw that they were ruining my career and my family financially.
You and I argued strongly till the Supreme Court.. I don’t need to talk about the blow from the court to you who swallowed all the lies and personal murders about me?

All the leaders had to pay lakhs and tens of thousands of fines both organizationally and individually.. I am not naming anyone here.. all of them are my friends.. some organizations have been avoided knowingly.. and there is no evidence and documents against those leaders. I overcame all the obstacles with the spirit of Kurukshetra and with the spirit of a sportsman. Actor Dileep, who was my friend, won that competition. At the Ernakulam MACTA Federation meeting, when Dileep was talking about the violation of the agreement, Dileep was able to make huge moves against it in Aluva Palace. .

He was able to do it back then because of the money, his marketable star status, and the fact that he was able to keep the producers and directors with him.
I see my failure that day as the success of my personality and attitudes in this life. I see the Supreme Court verdict in the organization case and the love that the public is giving me today as a part of that success.. Life is not just about crores and money..

I said this to clarify another point. Any action taken by the producers’ association against the violation of discipline by the actors or directors will have my full support.
But the leaders of the industry should also be able to say that we will respond with the same strength if we see a mistake. Instead of these small actors, when the issues of big stars come or when you see Saipi, there should not be a situation where Kawatu is forgotten.

Mr. Ranjith, the President of the Producers Association, may have the energy and integrity to do so.
If the cause of the problems that have arisen now is the use of drugs, there is no point in hiding that. As a humble filmmaker who has worked to ensure equal justice for all, I have shared my opinions and a small amount of honest experiences here.. Not to upset anyone.. Let’s unite for good films..
