Thiruvananthapuram: MA Nishad has supported director Vinayan who made serious allegations against the director and chairman of the film academy, Ranjith. Nishad opened up by sharing Vinayan’s Facebook post.
Director MA Nishad said that if Vinayan’s allegations are true, Ranjith and Secretary Ajo are not fit to be in that position. Vinayan alleges that Ranjith tried not to give the award for his film ‘Pathamavatham Santhadhi’. Nishad bluntly asserted that the Chachila Akademi is not the ancestral property of any Madambi and a thorough investigation should be conducted into the matter alleged by Vinayan.
Vinayan’s Facebook post:
‘I am writing this note now to share with you all a very serious matter which has shocked me and made me more anxious. I felt that if I didn’t respond to these things that I now know, I would be ridiculous even in front of my conscience.
The film 19th Century, which I wrote and directed, was nominated for an award, but I had no claim to being the best film. But does the chairman of the film academy have the power to interfere in the decision of the film awards, control the jury members and thereby exclude the films of those who are against him from the award? Isn’t that abuse of power? A very senior member of the jury called Manti’s PS to inform the Honorable Culture Minister about the constant interference of the Academy Chairman in that way, and even though he informed the Secretary of the Film Academy, the biased Chairman was not able to be suspended at least until the said award was announced and whose fault is it? Or did chairman Ranjith play this game knowing the culture department?
Mr. Ranjith knows that the jury member who complained is a person who was earlier the chairman of another institution like the Film Academy, doesn’t he? If you said to a filmmaker who is a very mature and authoritative member of the jury like him that 19th Century is a rubbish film and could have been excluded from the selection” during the award selection, you should not stand on the academy steps for a moment and resign.. You have committed a criminal act. Not a juror.. The chairman who tried to influence a juror for that reason alone committed an abuse of power.
19th Century is a film that can be considered for many awards, especially when that jury member said that the art direction is very good, you objected strongly. After knocking the answer there, you left the other jury member, actress Gautamiya, and did an exercise. It’s not set in the 19th century. Mrs. Gautami said that the card board was clear. Moreover, when he saw the members of the jury Mr. Madhusudhan and Mr. Hari stand as Ranjith’s megaphone and plead for the implementation of Ranjith’s wish, the senior jury member said with great emotion that it became clear to him that there was really a collective conspiracy against the movie 19th Century… The man who saw Ranjith’s work and spoke for justice was stabbed by Brutus’ knife in his chest. Ranjith, I feel contempt for you when you say that you felt.. I couldn’t sleep for a couple of days.. Is this state award such a big event? Are those who get it so great? Or will Ranjith be embarrassed if he gets one or two more awards for the 19th century? Is there any political reason behind this or the wrestling so much to win this film? In any case, anyone who understands this behind the scenes will feel bad for this award..
If these things I am clearly stating are wrong, you tell me. I will give you the exact proofs.. I am writing this with it in my hand.. I will give it to all the media if needed.. No one else except Mr. Ranjith has brought the state film award to this level in Kerala. Then finally it is decided to give 19th century three awards for music and dubbing.
But Ranjith didn’t know that information.. When he got to know, you were shocked.. Gautam Ghoshul, the chairman of the jury, who had gone outside after work, quickly called everyone back.. As if something unusual had happened, he said that the awards should be reconsidered. Do you want to see if it’s good?” Hearing this, the jury member, singer Jinsi Gregory said with distress, “Sir, everyone has thought about changing it…” Mr. Gautam Ghosh had a change of heart when he saw Jinsi’s full eyes. Isn’t this true, chairman? I have not done any harm to you personally..Even if you have an uncontrollable grudge against me now, what did the art director and make-up man who worked on that film do wrong..
Ranjith must be surprised how someone who is not a member of the academy or the jury can say things so accurately like the script. Someone will rise up to remove the iron veils that hide the righteousness… Can you say that it is not true? If so, tell me.. It is also a problem of my credibility.. I will give the exact proof in a way that the entire Kerala people will know.. Some others will have to answer then. The jury member mentioned earlier is not a communist person to see the point.. One word he said can be said in the same language…”I feel self-loathing when I think that all these people are doing this under the communist regime.”
To tell you the truth, I feel the same way as I have been close to the left. Why, my friend..Ranjite, do you go to all kinds of nonsense. Aren’t you the chairman of the academy who should behave with a sense of justice in the state car? If you have interfered in any way in the above matters then you should resign as the current chairman and go out. “If he is the same, the filmmakers will not get justice for the next three years,” says the learned jury member you have appointed.
Honorable Minister of Culture Saji Cheriani also needs to answer in this regard.. A member of the jury himself called the minister’s PS about the improper interference of Chairman Ranjith.. Then what did you do? Is it the decision to go ahead with such avatars? So…Bale Bhesh….I have to say…’
