In the criminal trial that started more than a month ago for possible seduction of a minor in prostitution, in which the director Uldis Cipsts is involved, there is no news to be disclosed to the media. The State Police (VP) is continuing the investigation, police representative Ilze Jurēvica told the “Delfi” portal.

In connection with the investigation, the police are not giving further comments at this time.
The VP started the criminal process on June 16 in connection with the publicly released news about possible seduction of a minor into prostitution.
It is about a party at the beginning of June, where both Cipsts and a seventeen-year-old girl were present. The party marked the 30th anniversary of the TV series “From Hate to Love”. change” or the fact that half of the series has been filmed.
The seventeen-year-old girl, as previously stated by Cipsts to the “Delfi” portal, volunteered to help an assistant in the art department of the series.
On June 16, the director wrote on Facebook that he was being falsely accused. According to his version, the girl remembers how he “beat her with his hand while she was lying down and fully clothed and then kissed her before going to sleep” against her will. The director also presented this version of what happened to several media, emphasizing that he is being falsely insulted.
The young woman herself did not make any comments. Ilze Grickus, costume designer of the series, publicly defended him. As she previously stated to the “Delfi” portal, the girl’s representatives do not discuss the incident publicly. Therefore, only director Cipsta’s version of what happened has been made public.
As Iluta Lāce, head of the “Centrs Marta” society, told the “Delfi” portal earlier, victims often feel shame, guilt and fear. This combination of feelings severely limits a person’s ability to stand up for themselves.
The series “From hate to love” is produced by the company “Tet” in cooperation with the subsidiary “Helio Media”. The series is planned to be broadcast in the winter on the channel “STV First!”. When the scandal hit the series, neither “Tet” nor “Helio Media” commented on it. Cipsts lost his position as director of the series because of the incident.
Representatives of both parties involved in the story previously stated that they hope for a fair trial. At the same time, each side has its own version of what is true in a particular case.
