On August 14, in the Neikenkalns Nature Concert Hall, in honor of the director Uģis Brikmanis (1956–2018), a mood concert “In the Sky of August – Folk Girls. Imants Ziedonis. In the darkness that is favorable to me ”, informed Valmiera municipality.

The ethno music group “Tautumeitas” and actor Ivo Martinsons will take part in the concert. Artistic director: Laima Jansone.

The mood concert series “August in the Sky” is an annual event in Dikļi, Neikenkalns Nature Concert Hall, which will take place for the third time this year, honoring director Uģis Brikmanis and his values, as well as maintaining the common cultural heritage.

In Valmiera municipality, he explained that Neikenkalns Nature Concert Hall had a special place for Brikmanis – his initiative was to remind Latvia about Dikļi, the place where the First Singing Festival took place. Brikmanis was the director of all the big events that took place in the Neikenkalns Nature Concert Hall, namely, “The First Singing Festival – 150”, folklore festivals “Baltica”, dance performance “Sun from the Sword”, which experienced the first performance in nature in Dikļi, . “He believed that good music, good words, an agreement in a joint dance is a way to discover the true nature of cultural and historical places, surrounded by legends,” the concert organizers emphasized.

Upon arrival at the concert, a valid digital Covid-19 certificate (printed or stored on a smart device) and a valid identity document (passport, eID) must be presented.
