On Palm Sunday of the Easter week, the first child of director Regnārs Vaivar and his beloved woman, actress and costume designer, was born. The newborn is a boy, and he is named Zemga – this is the name invented by the new father, writes the “Privatā Dzīve” publication this week.

The fact that Vaivars and Botmane will become parents, both managed to keep it a secret from the wider public for the whole nine months. As the father explains to “Private Life”, the meeting with the baby took place on Palm Sunday.
The son is given the name Zemgus, but it is not in honor of hockey player Zemgus Girgensons. The name came to the young father in connection with the character of Rainis in the play “I played, I danced” – so that the boy would be “imaginative like Rainis and practical like a Latvian”.
Madara Botman is 14 years younger than 50-year-old Vaivara, and Zemgus is the first child of both. The couple will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary next year. After the wedding, both of them officially changed their surnames to the Wagentrots surname found in Vaivara’s family, but they continue to use their usual surnames in the course of performing arts.
