Director of ‘With Love and Company’ Acquitted of Sexual Harassment Charges

He Criminal Court number 1 of Santiago de Compostela has acquitted the director of the television program ‘With love and company’, José Luis Viñas Horta, of the crimes of sexual harassment, workplace harassment and sexual abuse that he faced as a result of the accusations of the actress Iria Pinheiro.

The ruling signed by Judge Luis Aláez on June 23, and declared final in the order of September 11, states that “doing work with a person with whom you are not or do not feel comfortable is not harassment.”

“The ‘artistic ego’ of Iria makes creative freedom invisible or interpretation of José Luis outside the canons that she considers appropriate and makes criticism impossible,” the judge adds.

The actress Iria Pinheiro had denounced the director of the program for harassment in 2018, but the Social Court number 3 of Santiago had already dismissed the lawsuit when it found that there had been “no indication” of sexual harassment nor “vexatious.” Likewise, he had determined that the producer’s actions upon learning of the facts had been “correct.”
