If you haven’t seen any of the films, the “Oppenheimer” director recommends that you start with “Tokyo Drift”.
The credulous filmmaker Christopher Nolan, currently current with “Oppenheimer”, has previously said that he loves the much less credulous “Fast & Furious” films. This again came up in one new interview with Stephen Colbert who in turn says he hasn’t seen a single one of them.
– I am not the least bit ashamed that I like those films. It’s a fantastic action series, says Christopher Nolan and continues.
– I watch those films all the time. I love them. I’m totally fascinated that you’ve never seen them.
When asked if Stephen Colbert should watch everyone at once, Christopher Nolan says it’s not necessary.
– It is only in the latest films that there is a very specific sheet and a mythology. I would start with “Tokyo Drift” and see that movie as its own story.
“The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” is the third film in the series and although it is the lowest grossing, it may also be where the entire “Fast” franchise finds its soul. It is among other things in “Tokyo Drift” that director Justin Lin jumps on the series that he will then define with subsequent films such as “Fast Five”.
