At its meeting on September 25th, the Supervisory Board of STIHL AG complied with the request of board member Sarah Gewert to terminate her contract early by mutual agreement.

In addition to his previous duties, CEO Michael Traub will also take on responsibility for the marketing and sales department. He has decades of experience in this area and, based on his previous professional career, is considered a proven expert in what STIHL sees as the extremely important individual market of North America.
“With Sarah Gewert we are losing a proven expert in the area of marketing and sales. Ms. Gewert has achieved a lot in the last ten years. She renewed our brand mission, created our wonderful brand world in Waiblingen and breathed life into STIHL’s omni-channel strategy. On behalf of the company and the Stihl family, I would like to thank you very much for your great commitment and your significant contribution to the further development of STIHL,” emphasizes STIHL Advisory and Supervisory Board Chairman Dr. Nikolas Stihl.
“After ten intensive and fulfilling years at STIHL, I have decided to continue my professional path outside the company. As difficult as it is for me to say goodbye to the many great colleagues at STIHL, the right moment has come for me to devote myself to new tasks,” says board member Sarah Gewert as she says goodbye.
The Cologne-born economist began her professional career at STIHL in 2014 as head of the marketing communications department. In 2020, she took over as division manager and headed global marketing communications for the STIHL Group. At the beginning of 2023, Sarah Gewert was appointed to the board and was responsible for marketing and sales. In this role, she significantly strengthened STIHL’s marketing strategy and brand presence and successfully introduced online marketing.
