Senior doctors fear that they will find cancer in a sample, and that the computer system will link it to the wrong patient.
Safety for patients was to be improved. All the laboratories in southern Norway were to receive the same computer system. But after spending 11 years and at least NOK 655 million, large parts of the agreement are being stopped.
Nevertheless, some have to switch to the new system. Among other things, those who assess whether the mole, pap smear or tumor is malignant or benign.
