The just-released action movie “Rage” recently went to Guangzhou for a roadshow. Director, screenwriter and starring Ma Yuke attended the event together with leading actors Nick Cheung, Ethan Juan, Darren Wang, and leading actors Chen Guokun and Chen Xiaoyi. On the same day, the main creators had a great time meeting the Guangzhou audience. Nick Cheung also led the audience to sing live to cheer for the box office of “The Furious Tide”, and was praised by the audience for “progressing in Mandarin.”

“The Tide” shows a large-scale overseas crime scene. The characters in the film are complex and multi-faceted, the plot twists are unpredictable, and the exciting fighting scenes made the action movie fans at the scene very happy.

This is actor Ma Yuke’s first time as a director. He summed up his directing experience as “documentary style, injecting emotion”. He admitted: “Someone asked me why a scene takes so long, wouldn’t one bullet solve the problem? This time I mainly used cold weapons to fight. In recent years, most action movies have been shootouts and explosions. I wanted to shoot a A purely domestic crime-themed movie with innovative ideas.”

The hard-hitting fighting scenes made the leading actors endure a lot of hardships in the film. But when Wang Dalu recalled it, what impressed him most was not the hard work of playing, but the first scene in which he beat someone else. “The other person was tied up, and I felt like I was going to hit a living person who couldn’t fight back. I couldn’t do it.” Wang Dalu said, “Later, the director told me that you are ‘Hellboy’ and you can do it. . After that scene was filmed, the subsequent scenes became very smooth.

Ethan Ruan joked with the audience that his “best experience” during filming was finally being able to “hit” Nick Cheung. At the same time, Ethan Ruan was “beaten” by Chen Guokun. He recalled that the scene that impressed him the most was being punched three times by Ethan Ruan.

The film has the charm of a classic Hong Kong film, but it is not shot in Cantonese. Director Ma Yuke responded that the main actors come from all over the country, and the unified language is to give everyone a better viewing experience. “For example, I am a native of Lanzhou, and Ethan Ruan and Wang Dalu are Taiwanese.” In the end, I had no choice but to give in to “Zha Zhahui” Zhang Jiahui, whose Mandarin is very “ordinary” and speak Mandarin like everyone else. In response, Nick Cheung joked with the audience: “Aren’t you happier if I speak Mandarin?”

During the post-screening interaction that day, many viewers expressed their feelings after watching the film, saying that the film not only had strong action scenes, but also had a series of plots against the bad guys that made people feel like watching a “good movie”. In this regard, director Ma Yuke revealed that the script took ten years to polish, and he also experienced the dilemma of insufficient investment in the process. He insisted on making money while filming while fulfilling his dream.
